The Christmas number of the Triad is a very good publication with its bright and effective cover and its coloured plates, one the remarkable picture “Cats,” which was “medaille” in the Paris Salon last year. Perhaps the most remarkable feature of the issue is a Causerie on Australia and New Zealand by twenty or thirty of the most brilliant writers of the day such as George A Birmingham, H. A. A achell. H. L. Mencken. Hillaire Belloc, A A. Milne, John Masefield, N. L. George, Arnold Bennett, Arthur Pinero, Sir Harry Johnston Lpton Sinclair W Pett Ridge, Bernard bnaw, Thomas’ Burke, John Galsworthy William Archer, Gilbert. Murray, Alfred Sutio, David Belaseo, E. V. Lucas. Stephen Leacock, Frank Harris, Augustus Thomas, and Frank Swinnerton. In addition there are hosts of short stories, many poems, and a section from Clockwork Man, which will delight all children. The publication is very worthy of coni merit. The Daily Mail Year Book for 1925 provides as usual, a valuable record in brief of events of the past year. The mass of information furnished in its pages is of great importance and forms a handy and usefu work of reference. Special articles deal with a great variety of subjects, and there are few matters of topical interest that are not mentioned, from literature and music m England to-day to the late Government s housing policy and motoring in 1924. A marked feature is .“People of To-day in which are provided a thousand biographies in brief of men and women of our time. The hook will be of great assistance in every branch of inquiry. The Christmas number of Humour will be a popular reminder of the festive season. Its black and white illustrations are particularly humourous, and its storyettes are guaranteed to banish all sign of dull care. A bigger three-penny-worth of laughter would be hard to find.
