WARNING TO JOY RIDERS.

PALMERSTOIvNORTH, August 4. At the Magistrate’s Court 'Frederick Rule Neil Larsen and Charles Strickland were convicted and sentenced to one month’s hard labour for unlawfully taking a motor car-and converting it to their own use. The magistrate said that he was going to put that sort of thing down. Each day someone’s car was taken. An application was made by counsel that each sentence he increased to enable an appeal to he lodged, the magistrate added: Joy riding by taking cars is becoming a serious matter. More cars have been taken locally over the weekend. Senior-sergeant O’Grady: Three cars have been taken since Friday last.
