FIRST GRADE MATCHES. Goals Cup

(TTY v. UNIVERSITY A. Tho No. 1 ground on the Oval on Saturday afternoon was only in fair condition for the match City v. University A. The Oval required attention, the grass being very long in parts, and the whole being in need of rolling. The game, generally speaking, was a good one, being fast and hard throughout, but- very clean. The scores were: City -■■ 5 University A 1 Messrs J. Starr and J. P. Northey were the referees. ALBANY v. UNIVERSITY B. The match Albany v. University B was played on (he Oval, No. 3 ground, which was in fair condition considering the weather. The game finished: Albany 9 goals University B Nil Mr R. Wallace was the referee. SECOND GRADE. Technical Old Boys B 3. Albany 0. University C 5, Technical Old Boys C 4. City 2, University D 1. GAMES AT AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, July 19. Auckland defeated the Country Representatives by 5 goals to 2 in the final for the Captain White Cup. Piako and Rodney drew 2 goals each. An extra 15 minutes was played, but there was no score and the teams will be bracketed for the season. In the Ladies Provincial Cup final Auckland A 8 defeated Taumarunui B 0.

The hockey tournament for the White Horse Cup, which is open to Auckland county hockey associations, was won by Waipa. The runners-up (Rodney) and Waipa are to play off for the Captain White Cup. MOMONA v. OTAGO. The match Momona v. Otago was played on the Oval No. 1 ground, the score being 3 all. J. Martyn controlled the game. TRAINING COLLEGE v. UNIVERSITY. From the start of the game between Training College and University the Blues Browns’ half for the first spell. The game ended 4 all. Mr L. Fogo controlled the game. TRAINING COLLEGE II v. GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOLL-. The game between Training College No. 2 and Girls’ High School, which was played on No. 3 ground, was of a mediocre nature, both teams lacking the necessary dash. The game ended: Girls’ High School 4 goals, Training College 1 goal. Mr 11. J. Smith was referee. B GRADE. Technical Old Girls II 2. Otago II 0. Momona 7, Training College B II 1. T’aieri 2, Green Island 2. Miss Freeman scored Green Island’s goals. Ravensfcourne B I 4, Training College B I 2 Triangle I 4, Technical Old Girls I 2. Otago B I 5, Waiata B I 1. LADIES’ MATCHES.
