GOITRE IN NEW ZEALAND Doctors prove it due to lack of lodine in Drinking Waters and Table Salt Owing to the alarming increase of Goitre in New Zealand, eminent specialists have, during the past three years, been thoroughly investigating the cause of this disease. At the meeting of the British Medical Association, held in Auckland last March, they proved conclusively that Goitre is caused by a deficiency of lodine in the body. This, they said, was due to the lack of natural lodine in our highly refined Table Salts, and in many of the Public Water Supplies of New Zealand. They proved that, once the normal lodine content of the body is restored, the goitrous conditions quickly disappear. A safe and simple method of introducing lodine into the system is to rub a little lodex into any part of the body night and morn ing, for a short period. lodex contains 5% lodine, and is rapidly absorbed by the skin, the lodine content being carried into the system and the deficiency of this essential element is gradually made good. This method has been extensively used by eminent doctors in Eng* land and America, and better results have often followed than with any other line of treatment. The reason for the success of lodex in such cases is now clearly shown, as the result of these recent investigations in New Zealand. lodex does not stain, irritate or blister, and is sold by all chemists at 2/- per pot.
