The ordinary meeting of the Otago Land Board commenced on Wednesday, and was attended by Messrs R. S. Galbraith (Commissioner! of Crown Lands), James Smith, G. Livingstone, C. J. Inder, and T. A. The chief business related to the Wilden leasehold, situated near Heriot, and comprising an area of 56,577 acres. The lease, which is held by Mr Acton Adams, will expire in February, 1925. The question before the board was whether the lease should be extended or the area subdivided, and was pointed out that there were difficulties in providing access to the subdii isiuns and idso in providing suitable homestead sites. The hoard, after discussion, came (o the unanimous decision that steps should be taken to open the area to the public at the earliest possible dale. Ihe board then adjourned to June 4.
