WORLD'S FIRST TWIN-ENGINED BOAT AMPHIBIAN. (Central News, photo.) The first twin-engined boat Amphibian to be built in the world has just completed its first official trials and been handed over to the Air Ministry. It is designed to accommodate 12 passengers in addition to a pilot and engineer. The machine is fitted with the latest aircraft devices, and has folding wings and a unique retractable landing carriage, which can be raised or lowered in a few seconds. The photograph shows the machine with folded wings proceeding down slipway.
