Rangitikei A The latter team won, the scores at the finish being: Rangitikei Ifl, Hawke’s Bay 7. la the second match, Rangitikei B (20) v. WHsar*pa (SO) the final soores were; KanSitikei 58, Wairarapa 32. To-*rwrow the handicap final will be played between Rangitikei A and Wairarapa. March 25. The filial handicap game was played today between Rangitikei A (scr) and Waira--1 rapa fi ttj. At the end of the seventh spell the oOeme were even. As the game continued Rangitikei scored and won. TO ORNAMENT AT CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, March 24. In the final of the Stead Cup T'areora beat CJlrriatchurch A by 12 goals to 2. In the initial game for the Rhodes Cup Christchurch B (handicap 16) beat Banks Peninsula (handicap 18) by 35 goals to 19 RHODES CUP CONTEST. CHRISTCHURCH, March 25. In the semi-fin*l3 of the Rhodes Cup, Cnristchuch B (10) beat Pareora (ecr) by 21 SOWS to 10j and Amuri (9) beat Christchurcfi A (4) by 17 goals to 9. The final will take place to-morrow. _ March 26. In the final of the Rhodes Cup, Christ*hurch B (16) beat Amuri (9) by 22 goals SCULLING. AUSTRALASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. BLENHEIM, March 27. Following on a letter which Pat Hannan, the Australasian sculling champion, has received from Mr Bornblow (Mayor of Dargavillek there is a possibility that the forthcoming match between Hannan and Dick Arnst will be rowed on Wairoa River. SHOOTINC. DUNEDIN GUN CLUB. Tahuna Park was the scene of friendly rivalry on Saturday afternoon, when the Dunedin Gam Club and the members of the Kiwi Rifle Club held a shooting match. The meeting was in honour of the ladies, who were represented by selected marksmen. The day was not altogether suitable for shooting owing to the heavy wind blowing but some good marksmanship was witnessed, in spite of the adverse conditions. Shooting with a breechloader is very different to rifle shooting, and consequently the members of the Rifle Club did not meet their opponents on an equal footing. The match was a seven clay bird handicap, and for the Rifle Club 19 members took part, and Messrs Wignall Parker, and Pettit scoring four each shot off for places, which resulted in Mr Wignall being placed first, Mr Parker second, and Mr Pettit third. Messiames Fenneay, Jones, and Johnstone, who drew the names of these shooters, were banded tbs trophic*,
The Gun Club was represented by 14 shooters, and the president (Mr G. E. Turner), shooting with his usual consistency off 21 yards, scored the possible with eeven first barrels, thus winning the match. Messrs P. E. Wood (10 yards), H. H. Henderson (16 yjj.rcls), and li. M’Donald (10 yards), with six each to tlnyr credit, shot off for second and third prizes, and Mr Wood proved the winner of the second prize and Mr M’Donald the third. Mesdames M'lntosh and Morrison and Miss Parker drew the names of the placed shooters, and they were handed the trophies. The respective presidents of the clubs made a few happy comments. The afternoon concluded with a six clay bird handicap match among the Gun Club members, and Mr A. Simpson, shooting off 10 yards, was the winner, with six first barrels. Messrs A. King 17yds, H. Smellie 14yds, R. M’Donald 11yds, P. E. Wood 10yds, A. Callaghan 11yds, R. Morrison 10yds, and H. White 10yds each scored five, and in the shoot off the second prize went to Mr H. White.
