PROPOSED LEVY REJECTED. MELBOURNE, July 2E The Chamber of Agriculture rejected a recommendation that a levy of 6d be imposed on each bale of wool sold in Australia to establish a fund for the protection and development of the industry ; but the chamber passed a motion in "favour of a national conference to devise a method of marketing Australian wool to the best advantage. LONDON. July 20. The British Wool Federation passed a resolution pledging its members not to buy wool in Australia unless the draft allowances stand, and lias cabled instructions to that effect to its buyers in Australia.
