OTAGO EARLY SETTLERS’ ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago Early Settlers’ Association was held on Tuesday afternoon, Mr W. H. Ferens (president) occupying the chair. Stewart, St. Clair, late Titri (74), early sixties ; Henry C. Foster, Clyde street (75), Mary, 1849; Mrs Hugh Gunn, Camaru, late Toiro (80), early sixties; Alfred North, Owaka (63), Active, 1860; James Carson, Waikouaiti (88), Sevilla, 1859; Lady M'Lean, Otago, 1865; V. Fleming, 1867; Mrs Donald Williamson, North Taieri (87), Pladda, 1862; J. C. Arbuckle (84). Omeo, 1863; Donald John M‘Donald, Lawrence (95), Ladybird, 1862; Miss Anna Arabella Jeffreys, Auckland, Maori 1852; Captain L. F. Matheson, Union street (85), Lady Egidia, 1861. The following gifts were received and votes of thanks passed to the donors;—From Herbert George, a number of illustrated New Zealands News, 1876 and onward; from Mrs M. W. Marriage, Belleknovves, framed portrait of her late parent€, Mr and Airs W. Wilson, St. Clair (Mr Wilson, Dunedin, 1856, Airs Wilson, Jura, 1858). The following early settlers were enrolled: Nicolas Thomas, George street, City of Melbourne, 1863; Mrs M. G. Thomson (nee Thomas), Prince Albert road, City of Melbourne, 186.3; Airs Nicolas Thomas (nee Little), George street, Stormcloud, 1860; John Collins Browne, Mosgiel, arrived 1861. Two descendants were also enrolled.
