AN INVESTITURE.
GOVERNMENT HOUSE FUNCTION. The Governor-General held an investiture at Government House on Wednesday evening, at which his Excellency invested the Hon. Sir Francis Bell with the ins'gnia of a Knight of the Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George, and handed to Sir Harold Beaohamri his letters patent of Knighthood. lie presented certain other orders and decorations to those upon whom his Majesty the King had conferred them. After the investiture, the recipients, with their relatives and friends, and between five and six hundred guests, were entertained by their Excellencies at a reception.
