GUESSING COMPETITIONS. ADDITIONAL SPECIAL PRIZES. The fat bullock which was the subject of tho principal guessing competition at the Winter Show was weighed on the 12th in the presence of Mr D. Andrew (president), Mr W. R.. Duthie, and Mr R. Wilson, and turned the scales at 15221 b. On the tickets being checked it was found that the results were as follow : G. B. Nichol, Lee Stream ... 1521)lb. Thos. Paterson, Naso by 15211 b. ■F. Corregall, Kakaramea ... 15211 b. Geo. Luscombe, Castle street... 15231 b. Frank Wright, Waikiwi ... 1523'b. Mr Nichol gains the first prize, guessing within )lb of the correct weight, and tho other four competitors divide the second and third prizes. In the ladies’ competition, Mrs Williamson (Blaekstone Hill) gains first prize with 15211 b and Mrs John Fowler (Outram) and Miss R. Wood (Beaumont) divide the second and third prizes both being equal with 1523 points. Tlie guesses ranged from 23)1b to 56.6961 b. Mr James Gordon’s three crossbred lambs were killed, and the correct weight was 249) 11>. Tho following guessed the exact weight and divide the first, second, and third prizes;— Miss E. Matthews, Hope street, Dunedin. Miss R. Joyce, Mosgiel Junction. T. Lister, Eton avenue, Mornington. Messrs Stronaoh, Morris, and Co.’s special prize of £2 2s, for best pen of crossbred hoggets: Clifton Settlement, Waiwera South. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co.’s special prize of £3 3s, for the factory gaining most points in classes 23 and 24: Edendale Dairy Factory. Trophy presented by Factory Managers’ Union, class 25: Mosgiel Co-op. Dairy Factory Co. (Ltd.). New Zealand Dairy Factory Association’s trophy, class 30: Wliiterig Dairy Factory. Cheese-grading competition, for factory managers for the Taiori and Peninsula Milk Supply Co.’s cup: R. Lyall (Milford) and G. M ‘Millan (Tuturau), each 96) points out of 100; A. Harper (Woodlands), T. J. Hislop (Kelso), W. J. Weir (Omimi), 96 points each.

Bread, scones, etc.’; Mosgiel Woollen Co.’s special prize of £2 10s, for most points in classes 100 and 109: Mrs R. M’Donald (Waikoikoi). Messrs Ross and Glendining’s special prize of £2 2s, for most points in classes 110 to 120: Miss I. Rutherford (Outram). Kaitangata Coal Co.’s special prize of one truck of coal, for most points in classes 100 to 109: Mrs R. M’Donald (Waikoikoi).
