DUNEDIN SOUTH LICENSING COMMITTEE

The annual meeting of the South Dunedin Licensing Committee was held in the South Dunedin Town Hall on the 13lh. There were present-—Messrs J. Ji. Bartholomew, S.M. (chairman), J. J. Marlow. T. ii. Laylor, A. C. Campobll. and A. F. Qucleh. The police report contained no reflections on the manner in which the hotels had been conducted, and was favourable to tho licensees. The following transfers were granted: Commercial Hotel, Green Island, from H. Ostler to F. T. Blanchard ; Green Island Hotel, from M. H. Richards to (\ M. uunnet: St.. Kilda Hotel, from David Porter to H. M. Allan. Licenses were granted to all the transferees. Renewals were granted to Marlin Quirk, Ocean Beach; Catherine Walsh. Bay View; Fitzroy, Ivan Kave; Railway, Mosgiol, Frank A. Cheyne; Mosgiel, Duncan M'Kenzie, Mosgiel. The representative of the owners of tho Ocean Beach Hotel undertook lo improvo the facilities for escaping from fire if it was thought, necessary bv the building inspector. For the licensee. Mr Irwin said that minor work to the kitchen would be carried out. It was decided to hold over the application of the licensee of the Ocean View Hotel to the quarterly meeting in order that desired improvements should be carried out. In view of the special circumstances it was decided to waive the renuiremont that hot water lie installed in the bar of the Mosgiel Hotel..
