June 15. —Tlia weather has been seasonable for the time of the year—hard frosts at night ollofwed by sunny days. Sport.—The Waikaia and Riversdale Ladies’ Hockey Clubs played a match on the 9th inst. at Waikaia, the hom e team winning by 6to 1. On the same day Pdversdale football team met Waikaia (Second Grade) on the Recreation Ground, Waikaia, and were defeated by 22 points to nil. Great interest was taken in both matches . On Wednesday, 13tli inst., a cribbage tournament, Citizens v. Civil Servants, was held in the Masonic Hall, and Citizens -won by 36 to 34. Progressive euchre was also played, and a dance followed the card ga mes. Concert. —On June 27 a grand Maori concert in aid of the Orlianages and Maori Missions is to be held in the Masonic Hall. Transfer.—Mr Chamberlain has been irans ferred from Waikaka to charge of the Waikaia Post Office.
