OTAGO DAIRY PRODUCERS.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Otago Dairy Producers’ Cool Storage Co. (Ltd.) was held in the secretary’s office on Thursday. Mr S. Bowman occupying the chair. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the annual report, said that he was sure that the company was pleased at the success of its venture in cool storage, proving as it did such a boon to all those in need of such service, and also that it could, with full confidence, recommend the store as a complete and successful means of handling all goods entrusted to the company’s capable manager, Mr M'Lean. In its secretary, the company had a careful and painstaking officer, and these two gentlemen, assisted by their staffs, had given complete satisfaction to ill its clients, proof of this being that there had never been a complaint of any description. The retiring directors, Messrs W. Blaekie and A. J. Gall, were re-elected to office, and Mr \\. E. MT.ean was re-elected auditor. ANNUAL REPORT. The following is the annual report of the company; —“From the figures w hich have been submitted to you, it will be seen that the net profit for the year is £759 10s, arrived at after providing for depreciation of buildings, income tax, and all other outgoings. It will also be seen that the mortgage on the building, which stood at £3OOO at last balance, has been reduced by £SOO during the year, and now' stands at £2500. During the year the directors, on the suggestion of the manager, authorised the erection of an ice-making plant which is now completed, and will be ready for use during the ensuing season. The store has been used to its full storage capacity during the year just closed, and it is filling splendidly a much needed want in the city. The following figures will serve to give sharehoders an idea of the work done. Butter, total received, 55.709 boxes, an increase of 18.042 boxes. Cheese. 30.648 crates, an increase of 335 crates. ' Honey, 1612 cases, an increase of 1130 cases. From the foregoing figures it will be seen that tilings are going on very satisfactorily with all the affairs of the company. The buildings and plant are in first-class order and condition, and everything in the working and carrying. out of same are running smoothly. We conclude by expressing our appreciation of the work of the manager, secretary, and staff, and feel sure that the shareholders have every reason to be satisfied with the splendid results achieved to date.”

In addition the store has received egg pulp. fish, poultry, rabbits, butcher’s meat for storage.
