TOTALISATOR RETURNS. SEASON’S INVESTMENTS £2,110,269. AUCKLAND, June 8. The usual fixture of race meetings held in Auckland concluded with the final day of the Auckland winter meeting, but with the special permit granted for a two days’ meeting for country clubs at Ellerslie the 1922-23 season has not yet closed. The totalisalor returns, however, show that, exeluding the four extra days under the country clubs’ pool scheme, at which £159,800 was invested, the speculation at the race meetings amounted to £1,360,176 10s, compared with £1,472,628 last year, while the speculation at the trotting meetings totalled £590.293, against £586,818 last season. The total investments at all the meetings wms £2.110,269. The principal figures are as follows (1921-22 being in parentheses) : Auckland Racing Club, £888,717 10s (£954,440). Takapuna, £233,610 (£249.493). Avondale, £203,020 (£221.395). Auckland Trotting, £395,273 (£391,865). Otahuhu, £195,020 (£194,953).
