Sixteen pages are again devoted to the New Zealand section of Aussie, the cheerful monthly which is inserted in the centre of the Australian edition. Aussie in itself is a fine publication, full of the humour that appeals to the Australasian people, but with the addition of the New Zealand section it is extraordinary value for the price. Among the artists in the New Zealand section are: —F. H. Cumberworth, Tom Bell, C. MTntyre, A. ri. Paterson, K. Alexander, and there are also a number of new artists whose work appears for the first time. These artists are receiving the encouragement. that will develop their talent and furnish them into full-blown craftsmen. It has always been the policy of Aussie to encourage the beginner, and now that New Zealand lias a section of the magazine to itself vve may hope to see much improvement in the work of our young artists and writers. In this issue is an announcement of a £25 prize offered for a cover design. This should appeal to the New' Zealand artists who practise colour work. Aussie /is inviting contributions from New Zealand artists and writers, and the intention is to keep the section purely New Zealand as possible.
