ADDINGTON MARKET. CHRISTCHURCH, May 9.

At Addington market, contrary to expectations on account of lire floods dislocating the railway services, there were large yardings of fat - stock to-day, the districts not affected by trains sending forward all the stock available. in anticipation of a scarcity. The result was a lowering in prices. Shore Sheep.—Very few forward, and previous values were maintained Fat Lambs.—A small yarding of 1000 head, with no change in values. Prime iambs made from Od to 9 l-&d per lb; extra prime lanubs to 333 lid; prime, 27s 9d to 30s (id; medium, 21s 6d to 27s Gd; light and unfinished, 20s to 245. tat Sheep.—The largest yarding for some months, comprising about 11 races. Values were easier by 2s per head. Freezers bought very little. Extra prime wethers, 3-ls to 375; a few special to 403 3d; prime, 303 to 335; medium, 27s 6d to 23s Gd; light, 24s to 275; extra prime ewes, 32s to 36s 3d; prime, 25s 6d to 295; medium, 22s 6d to 255; light, 13s to 225; old, 14s 6d to 18s. OAMAfio markets (From Our Own Corespondent.) O AMARU, May 12. The stock market has been affected by the wet weather, and the volume of business has been limited. The yarding of sheep at the weekly sale was very small, and for the most part was found in the fat pens. The prices realised were: Fat lambs, from 26s 3d to 26s 9d; fat wethers, 25s 3d to 29s 3d; fat ewes, 15s 3d to 18s 3d; store lambs, 21s 3d. At the Duntroon yards -the 3mall yarding consisted mainly of aged ewe 3, which sold at from 3s 3d to 17s Id. Other prices were as follows: —Fat lambs, from 29s Gd to 303 9d; ewe lambs, 23s lOd; mixed-sex lambs, 21s 6d; merino wethers, 12s 6d. Sales by private treaty have been few, and the most (note worthy was one of an exceptionally good line, of two, four, six, and eight-tootli ewes, for which 36s 6d was obtained. For failing-mouthed! ewes 34s 6d was paid. Heavyweight fat wethers have been sold' at 355, and heavy-weight ewes at 19s. A line of store wethers realised 23s 6d. The chief feature of the cattle market was the dispersal sale of the Waitangi Station cattle, which took place at the regular market, and brought buyers from a distance. The cattle were stores' steers, ranging from four-years-old to two-year-old, and the range prices was as follows:—Four-year, from £1 5s to £5; three-year, from £3 2s Gd to £3 17s Cd; two-year, from £2 Is to £3. Included in this offering were some light, fat bullocks, which realised up to £8 15s. Very little business has been done in cattle by private treaty. Fat bullocks have changed' hands at from £8 up to £l2, according to weight, fat steers at £7 15s, and fat heifers at £5 ss. Dairy cows at profit have , J under the hammer at from £6 to £{ 2s Gd. SOUTHLAND MARKET REPORT. (From Ous Own Correspondent.) INVERCARGILL, May 12. Stock. During the past week the stock market has remained practically unchanged, values all round being on a par with those ruling during the week with the exception of fat cattle. At the local market fat cattle have eased about £1 per head. In the store sheep market prices are easier for f.m. ewes and also for store lambs. Good breeding ewes are stili in keen demand. The ing prices may be quoted: Fat Cattle.—Extra prime beef, 20s to 21s 6d per 100 lb; prime heifer. 17s to 18s; cow, 12s to 13s; extra prime bullocks up to £10; average urime, £6 to £7 10s; light and unfinished. down to £5 19s; extra prime heifers up to £7; average to prime, £5 to £5 10s unfinished down to £3 10s; extra prime cows up to £4 10s; average to prime, £3 10s; unfinished, down to £2.

Fat Sheep.—Extra prime wethers, 345; average to prime, 29s 6d to 31s 6d; light and unfinished, 265; extra prime ewes, 263; average to prime, 21s 6d to 23s 6d; light and unfinished, lfis.

Store Cattle. —The market is absolutely lifeless, there being practically no demand for any class of store cattle. At sales held during the week fairly large numbers were offering, and sales are improving very little in this section. Forward three and four-year-old bullocks, £3 15s; two to two and a-half vear oid3, £2; yearling and 18-month-old, 20s to 323 Gd ; extra good dairy cows, in profit, up to £10; average. £5 to £7; inferior and cully cows down to 30s. Store Sheep.—Forward four and six-tooth, 655; average, 60s to 32s 6d; forward six and eight-tooth ewes, up to 30s; s.m. ewes, 22s Gd to 25s Gd; extra good, 275; f. and f.m. ewes, 13s to 15s, according to condition; inferior and aged ewes, 8s; forward ms. lambs up to 19s Gd; average, 16s to 17s Gd; cully lambs, Bs. THE FRUT AND PRODUCE WORLD. Reilly’s Central Produce Mart (Ltd.) report : An unsettled market, due to the floods experienced in the north, which affected consignments of produce generally; onions, potatoes, carrots, and parsnips being scarce. Eiggs are short of requirements, and prices have advanced. Apples and pears are in full supply, an abundance available for all requirements, sales being difficult to effect. Oranges and bananas reached us in perfect condition. Oranges are good buying at the prices quoted to-day, 153 per case.
