“This country is over-built with freezing works, there are far too many in New Zealand,’’ remarked Mr 13. A. Campbell when speaking at a meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board. He went on to say that a freezing works was looked upon as an El Dorado, once it was built the fortunes of all concerned were made. ‘‘That is not so,” he remarked, “it is a greyheaded business, if not a baldheaded one.”
