A Takapuna resident made a sad discovery che other day, when he came across a young mam named William Redvers Thomas, aged 22 years, in a dying condition in a paddock off East Coast road, beyond Takapuna. Thomas, who had been suffering from pains in the stomach for the past few days and had received medical advice, expired shortly after he was found, and his body was brought to Auckland, where a coronial inquiry will be held. A small school of kingfish ran into one of the temporary partial enclosures on the waterfront at Tauranga last week. A resident waded into 3ft of water, and, with the aid of a shovel, killed eight fish. The largest kingfish was estimated to be over 801 b in weight.
