CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT. The bowlers’ Christmas tournament was begun on the 26th, under the auspices of the Dunedin Centre, on the Oaversham, Roslyn, and North-East Valley Greens. The greens were all in excellent condition for bowling, the weather was j erfect, and everyone was consequently' in the best humour for the competition. THE QUEENSLAND BOWLERS. WELLINGTON, December 21. The Queensland bowlers brought their Wellington season to a close to-day. They defeated Thorndon, Johnsonville, and Sfhandallah on Thorndon green by 66 to 57. Another section m:t Lyall Bay, Seatoun, and Victoria and lost by 45 to 70. The bowlers left by the ferry boat to-night for Christchurch and Dunedin. CHRISTCHURCH. December 25. On Saturday afternoon five rinks of the Queensland bowlers met a Canterbury representative team, the visitors being defeated by 130 points to 98.
