AN AMENDING BILL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, August 16. A Bill to amend the State Advances Act lias been introduced in the House. It. is proposed to establish a miscellaneous business branch for the business of the office in connection with “ Tho Fruit Preserving Industry Act, 1913,” for the business in connection with cold storage, as provided in section 30 of “The Finance Act, 1918” (No. 2) ; for the business in connection with “Tlie Repatriation Act, 1918”; for the business in connection with “Tlie Fishing Industry Act, 1919”; for the business in connection with “The Housing Act, 1919” | and for any other business that may be carried on in the Advances Office, and that is not part of the business of any other branch. Machinery clauses in oonneotion with these provisions are incorporated in the Bill. A reserve fund of £25,000 is to be estah» 1 ished for the settlers’ branch, the worker? branch, and the local authorities’ branch.
