From 3 eggs a day to 25 a day at a cost of %d. a day for Karswood Poultry Spice. Here is convincing evidence from a well-known Belgian banker that Karswood Poultry Spice (containing ground insects) will increase the winter egg output - of both pullets and second-year hens. This evidence is all the more trustworthy as it oomcs from a man whose business as a banker makes_ him very careful ' with" figures, and naturally very chary of over-stating the case. We welcome the evidence the more on that "account. The practical results are obvious. The tested pen oi 25 birds was onlv laying three eggs a week when he started the birds on Karswood Poultry Spice on December 20 last year; the eggs went up to 12 a day in the second week, and up to 25 a day in the fifth week, which is maximum production some davs; that is to say, 25 eggs in a day from 25 birds. The cost of the Karswood Poultry Spice for 25 bens for one day is lees than three farthings, eo the 22 extra eggs cost Mr Bombeek only three iarthings o day. He had to feed them in’any case", whether.they were laying or not —and so the only extra expense he -Incurred bv using Karswood Poultry Spice was 'the cost oi the Spice itself, which works out at '-three iarthings a day, as before stated. Number of Birds Tested, 25 13 Pullets, 5 months old; 10 Hens, one year old; 2 Hens, two years old. At the beginning of the test the 25 birds were laying three eggs a day, and the following table shows the egg increase alter using Karswood Poultry Spiee Ist week 2nd week 3rd week 4th week 6th week 6th week 3 eggs a day 10 to 15 eggs a day 15 to 18 ~ „ 17 to 20 „ 22 to 25 „ ~ 22 to 25 „ „ in spite of The remarkable thing to me is that, the great, egg output, my hens remain very active ■ fid fir—t.h»r» is not the slightest *•""*- ness or staleness among them. On December 20, before I started using the Karswood Poultry Spice, the egg production was very poor—l was only getting five eggs a day irom 100 birds; but the filth week alter using Karswood Poultry Spice on the tested pen of 25 birds I counted on some days the maximum production; that is, 25 eggs in a day irom the 25 birds; thus proving the continuation of a normal and fruitful output. The other birds—not receiving Karswood Poultry gpicn—have only given me half the output of the birds which are getting the Karswood Spice; while the two-vear-old hens, not getting Karswood Spice, have not yet laid their first eggs since moulting. In conclusion, I feel that the general use of this excellent egg-produoer by all poultry-keepers I also have another pen of five Anconas, which also laid 871 eggs in nine months. I might tell you that we have taken a oorrect total each day separate to the other. They ar<i still laying, each year I intend to increase my flock while I can go in for a farm. I thought perhaps you would like to know how well I had done on your Karswood Poultry Spice. WM. BUTLER. November 20, 1921. Three Times as Many Eggs. • The Nook, Pevensey Bay, Sussex. Since using Karswood Poultry Spioe my egg output has more than trebled. I have kept poultry for years in varying numbers Irom 20 to 1000. If I oould not get Karswood I should not keep one. Karswood Poultry Spioe a trial ? It costs only [ one-tenth of a farthing per bird per day in use, 1 and if the management of the fowls is on intel- \ ligeut lines, it returns its value in eggs many ■ times over. At s*d each 22 eggs aTe worth 10s, and yet the oost to get them was only thTee farthings—with Karswood Poultry Spice. We do : not suggest that Karswood Poultry Spice will make this big difference in every case, but we do feel that however good the management may be in other respects, the addition oi Karswood Poultry Spice (containing ground insects) to the soft mash will repay its cost many times over in every case. Eight Times as Many Eggs After Four Weeks Use. 130 Bue Moortebock, Lilbeek, Belgium. I I have much pleasure in informing you that t the experiments I have made with your Karswood i Poultry Spice (containing ground insects) have given’me entire satisfaction; and irom now onl‘ ward I have decided to use it for all the birds ; on my poultry farm. i I commenced mv experiments on December 20, 1920, and obtained surprising results, in spite oi the bad arrangement of my poultry house and the winter season of the year. The results are very : illuminating, and are clearly shown by the lollowing table: — should have an excellent effect on the egg returns, and I feel it mv duty to recommend it to all poultry-keepers, as Karswood Poultry Spice is rendering a service to Belgium by increasing the food snpplv. „ (Signed) LEOPOLD BOMBEEK. February 10, 1921. 5d Eggs Galore. Oliurch End Stores, Clophill, Ampthill, Beds. Por two years I have used your Karswood Poultry Spioe, and am very pleased with the result as regards the egg basket and keeping the fowls fit and healthy. From 17 pullets hatched in April of last year I received 282 eggs during the month of November following, and 1 think I made 5d each on every egg—very good considering the hens wme the ordinary barndoor fowls. All through the Winter I had eggs in my shop window when they were very scarce in the village. _ T. B. GODDARD. November 21, 1921. 1249 Eggs from Six Anconas. Church Road, North Ferriby, E. Yorks. After I came out of the army I went in for keeping a few fowls, and I have a pen of six Anoonas. I took count of their eggs irom when they first started laying, and I always use your Karsw-ood Spice eveTy day, and I might say the pen of six Anconas have got over their moult. Their first egg was laid on November 18, 1920. Halfpenny a Day to Make Twelve Lay. One tablespoonful (ioz) of Karswood Poultry Spice is sufficient for 20 hens for one day, so that it costs you less than Jd per day for every dozen fowls. Try a Stilling Packet. Ask your poultry food dealer to supply you with a 1/- packet of Karswood Poultry Spioe, adding postage if necessary, and try it for a fortnight on half a dozen hens. Results are not instantaneous —it takes a fortnight or three weeks to improve the egg returns.
