Mr J. MacKenzie, one of the soldiers on the Stalker Settlement. Seaward Downs, had the misfortune to lose two large straw stacks by fire the other day. Mr MacKenzie set fire to the chaff left by the mill, and the fire, with the assistance of the wind, crept up to the stacks and got a firm hold in a few minutes.
