—ln a combat between a diamond rattlesnake and a blue racer, the latter was victorious over his more virulent adversary. During the fight (reports a writer in Science) the racer was badly bitten by the rattler, whereupon the former worked his way to a patch of weeds, and bit into the stems, extracting the juice, after which he returned to renew the fray. This peculiar performance wa6 repeated in a short time, when the racer again returned and destroyed the rattlesnake.
