FIVE MILLION LOAN

SUBSCRIBED TWICE OVER. HIGHLY SATISFACTORY RESULTS. WELLINGTON, April 26. The Prim© Minister received a cablegram dated April 25 advising him of the following details with regard to the flotaJon of the £5,000,000 loan. The list closed this morning, the total subscriptions being £10,000,000. Five thousand applications were received. Those up te £IOOO were allotted in full, and the remainder 40 per cent. Press comments consider the terms excellent for the dominion. As a result of the war loan colonial stock prices have much appreciated. Mr Massey-'stated that he had no further statement to make in regard to the loan. He expressed gratification at its having been subscribed twice over, but in reply to a suggestion that it was a pity that he could not have taken the whole 10 millions he declared that it would have been suicidal.
