A renewal of hostilities would be, to say the least, a grave disappointment. ’ The Irish Times says : “During the present week Mr De Valera has shown the mind of an idealogue. Now that the crisis is reduced to its elements, we beseech him to show the mind of a warmblooded man of affairs. We beseech the Dail Eireann to be guided by common sense.” IRISH EMIGRATION. LONDON, August 17. The Irish Registrar-general’s annual report shows that 6000 males and 9510 females emigrated from Ireland in 1920, or 3.5 per 1000 of population, compared with 0.7 in 1919. From 1851 to 1920, 4,338,199 persons emigrated.
