NEW SOUTH WALES FLOODS.
STOCK LOSSES HEAVY. I SYDNEY, July 27. The receding flood waters in Die southern rivers left a trail of desolation. It is estimated that the losses along the Tweed River alone, including large numbers of cattle and pigs, amount to £250,000.The town of Kenipsey was swept by the flood waters, the damage being estimated : at £25,000. ! The waters in the north weste n rivers j continue to rise. Bourke, Louth, and other townships are threatened witi an inundation. July 28. As the floods in the northern rivers recede the reports from tile outlying districts, previously cut off by the flood j waters, show that the losses of stock and crops and the damage generally are very serious and widespread. Much suffering was endured by the marooned people, and many sensational es.apes are recorded. In a nutimer of cases houses were washed a wav bodily. j The people in the flooded townships are now busily cleaning up the deep mud which was deposited in the streets and houses, removing the debris, including dead ani- | mills, and righting many houses which I were shifted from their foundations.
