THE LABOUR PARTY.
WELLINGTON, July 14. Considerable discussion took place at the session of the New Zealand Labour Party upon the question of immigration, arising out of the fact that over 800 immigrants arrived at Auckland last month in two steamers. It was also resolved that a. comprehensive statement covering the questions of immigration. housing, and the general industrial situation in New Zealand lie prepared and forwarded to all the principal industrial organisations, the Labour. Socialist, and Radical press of Great, Britain and Ireland, and the British Labour Party. The statement, it was agreed, will include the strongest warning to British workers coming to the dominion at the present time. In the meantime the National Executive will be instructed to co-operate with the Alliance of Labour i\ n d the Workers’ Union, and other industrial organisations in this connection.
