NEW SOUTH WALES FLOODS
SYDNEY, July 12. A flock of 4000 sheep were marooned by floods on a ridge of dry ground, and were threatened with starvation till the services of Captain Love, an airman, were requisitioned. The airman will ♦oad his machine with corn and convey three bags hourly to the sheep. The ridge embraces five acres of grass, which has been eaten bare for weeks. The water extends for miles on all sides. July 13. Flood waters from the higher reaches are now coining down the western rivers. Wide areas are flooded. Many residents have been compelled to leave their homes. A ater invaded several townships and cutoff railway communication. Walgett is completely surrounded, and some of its streets are awash. Embankments are being hurriedly erected. Much damage and heavy losses to stock in the flooded districts are reported. July 14. Water is still rising in Walgett, and business and private places are inundated. Mails from Brewanina were conveyed bv boat. Extensive damage was also done at Mungindi, where the flood waters were in height.
