OTAGO EARLY SETTLERS’ ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago Early Settlers’ Association was held on Tuesday afternoon, Air George Colder (president) in the chair. The following gifts were received, for which votes of thanks were passed to the donors:— From E. Knewstubb (Port Chalmers), framed portrait of his late father. T. Knewstubb (Mary, 1849) ; Captain 11. Gordon (Dunedin), bound volume of “Old Identities,” 1879. The following deaths were recorded: William Fletcher, Waitcpeka, 83 (Arima, 1864); Thomas 11. Dick, Dunedin. 69 (Boswort.h, 1859); Mrs id. Moore, Palmerston North (early sixties); Mrs Campbell Thomson, Auckland (late Dunedin), 81 (Maori, 1852); Mrs Johanna Butler, Waipori, 81 (early sixties); Alexander lluglian, Carterton (late Taieri Beach), 85 (early sixties); Alexander Leek, Port Chalmers, 80 (Sevilla, 1862); Hugh Cameron, Port Chalmers (Claude Hamilton, 1865) ; Mrs Robert Bell, Waihola, 85 (Maori, 1857); John Sandeman, Dunedin, 68 (early sixties); Airs Andrew Black, Maitland street, 90 (Victus, 1864) ; R. W. Rutherford, Caver-sham, 63 (Victus, 1864) ; William Churchill, Maitland street, 86 (Thetis, 1854) ; Mrs Mary E. Gordon, Dunedin (sixties). The following early settlers were enrolled: H. E. Moller, Octagon (from Melbourne, 1861) ; Thomas Stevenson Lit. tie, Corned ale, near Oamaru (Caribou, 1867); Mrs James Cable (nee Brown), Dunedin (Aboukir, 1865) ; William Aluir, Kaka Point (Sdlistrio, 1862)
