LEPROSY. NEW FORM OF TREATMENT. CHRISTCHURCH, July 5. The six lepers at Quail Island are undergoing a new form of treatment, and a good deal of interest is taken in the results. The treatment consists of injections of a colloidal form of antimony larva rate, which has been found in other cases to lessen the lesions of the skin rapidly, and to promote the genera! well-being of the patient. The patients at Quail Island are men, one of whom has the disease in a fairly acute form, but all the stages of the disease are represented, and some cases are of long standing. The new treatment does not, ensure certain cure, but is certain to prevent the patients from losing ground.
