It now possesses Freezing Works at Gisborne, Tokomaru Bay, and Hicks Bay—the former being one of the largest plants in New Zealand. Early this year the Company’s nominal capital was increased from £250,000 to £1,000,000. By reason of the acquisition of other Companies, it is anticipated that the issued Capital of the Company will be approximately as follows : Subscribed Capital £637,136 Paid-up Capital £395,754-10-0. Pioneer Farmers 9 Company This Company is the pioneer Farmers’ Company in Poverty Bay. since its formation it has distributed £174,795 amongst shareholders, and paid rebates amounting to £100,527. Reserves amounting to £123,352 are now being distributed as share capital. Its average rate* of dividend has amounted to per cent, per annum., although the primary object has not been to make profit but to safeguard producers’ interests.
