Fanciers sod breeders of dogs are oardiaiSy Invited to contribute to this column. '‘Terror*” will endeavour to make this daportmeat as interesting and up-io dkte ax possible, but lu order to do this be mast have the eo-eperatkm ot ate readers, henoe be trusts this Invitation will ha cheerfully saspended to. “Sport.”—The probability is that it is otdy excitement. I have seen it often in high-spirited dogs. -*The dog section, of the Dunedin Fanciers’ Show, which opens on the 30th inst., bids fair —after all —to be a creditable one of Mr Sam Crabtree to judge. The South Island’s best canine will be here, although some of the local breeders—those favouring the rival club —are not exhibiting. I understand that every endeavour will be made to suitably entertain Mr Crabtree during his visit by motor trips, a social, etc., and 1 believe one item of the programme is a visit to see the 80 to 100 Pekingese {and their accommodation, which is a sight in itself) kept by Mr J. Hayne, of this city. I am informed that Mr T. \Y. Vickery has purchased from Mr Doe, of Rabymere kennels, a very nice Irish terrier dog pup. Rabymere Prospect, R.N.K.C.; lie is by Paddy Selection x Garry O'Shea. Also that Mr Smith, of Napier, has also purchased a litter sister to the dog mentioned. Ahnriri Selection, of the same kennels, had a litter of eight puppies to Paddy Selection on the 16th June, but owing to very severe frost Mr Doe lost two clogs. As both parents have good coats, Mr Doe is hoping to get a top-notcher from this litter for the show bench. —Mr Doe has secured a couple of wire bitches from Mr L. Raymond, of Tuatapere, out of Rabymere Brinsca Queen, who is by Brinsca Boy (imp.). This fancier is sending a couple of good Irish terriers, also wire clog and a smooth bitch, to the Ashburton Show. —Mr J. B. White (the famous silver Wyandotte breeder) has now turned his attention to breeding Irish terriers, and has mated his good bitch Red Riot, winner of two challenges, to Mr W. Henderson’s young dog Farndon Bandit. —Mr J. G. Harcourt, Wellington, has purchased from Mr W. Henderson his young champion Professor bitch Pantomime, who is at present rearing a tine litter to Roscea Rebel. _ —Mr O. Aitken has purchased a fine Irish terrier by Silent O’Moyle. He will be a decided acquisition to the fancy. —Mr S. M‘Allan has purchased an Irish terrier from a fancier in Timaru.
