A N N u A L M EE’J 1N G. The third annual meeting 0 f the Otago Daily J rouucers Cool Storage Company was weld in tile board room oi the Express Company’s building on the 31st uit. jyi r ,s. th°C Chilli-man directors) occupied -the .Secretary (Mr Hugh Mitchell) read . annual of th e directors. The report stilted: “Wc herewith submit the balance sheet and profit and loss account Match 31. Alter providing for all our needs the net pro!,; for (he ytar is £llßs j ~2*i e . Government Joans, which totalled £ toJO, have been reduced to £3OOO eacn loan having been taken up as it I,C came due. The quantities of produce recene,, .luring the year were very large, uiii Le seen by tne quantities given Viz. (Cheese, 34,731 crates; but Ur, 23 265 boxes; rabbits, 1530 cases; honey 915 cases; poultry, 641 cases; butchers' - meat etc., _ 16,1001 b. From the figures given it w-tli be easily seen that the store has been wvn-ked to its full capacity. The amount oi labour involved in handling such lar-e quantities of produce will readily be grasped, and with satisfaction wo have to record that the year’s work has been accomplished with great despatch and accuracy which reflects great credit on our staff. At times during the period, our manager had his ability taxed to the utmost. to find the necessary space required for all asking for it. It' is hardly necessary to go into detail and recapitulate the difficulties that havo to be overcome in such work, suffice to say, that they have all been met and the work has been uncler-

I taken, and the result, from an efficiency point of view, has come out, we believe, to the satisfaction of all. We have, owing to the frequent requests for extra space, to ask that this meeting consider, and if it approves to give instructions for additional freezing rooms to be provided at an estimate cost of approximately £1525. This extra space will, we believe, provide what is needed in the meantime, and can be run with very little extra expense to the company. but with considerable increased revenue. The store is at present filling a long-felt want in Dunedin ,and will, we believe, with the addition, if sanctioned, give the space essential for some time to come.” tn moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the Chairman said that the profit and Joss account, just submitted by the secretary, showed that the company had had a good year, and that the year had been one full oi work for all connected with the store. The result, while extremely satisfactory from a financial point of view, could hardly be estimated from this aspect as much as from the great convenience in their having such very complete and satisfactory cool stortage accommodation for their cheese and butter, which storage Dunedin so much requited. The charges as all would admit, were very moderate, and the condition in which their produce was delivered from the store must give the kennest satisfaction to all concerned. It was a work that requires careiul and constant attention from the manager and bis staff', and as he was brought daily into touch with the various details he could assure shareholders that no detail was overlooked in making for full efficiency and satisfaction. The store had been taxed to its full capacity during the year, as was shown by the figures submitted in the di'ectors’ report. 'The quantities rocei.ed and the accommodation now being asked for necessitated the question of extra storage room being provided, hence the suggestion now being put to them for consideration in (lie order paper for auUiority for the directors to put 111 hand additions which they believed would provide for the needs of all those askingtor use of our store, and would, they believed, if given effect to, provide ample and complete space. In addition, it would make tie store capable of producing an oven better return on the capital expenditure. Mr A. W. Antes seconded the motion, which was carried. Messrs N. Stewart and J. Parker, the retiring directors, were re-elected without opposition. Ihe Chairman said that during the past, year or two their space at the store had been taxed to its utmost. They had sufficient room in the store to construct an additional two cool rooms. 'The approximate cost of these two rooms would be £1520, and they could expect to secure a very satisfactory revenue from them. ITo thought, that they should go on with the work.

It was unanimously decided that the two cool rooms should be constructed, and that a start should be made with the work forthwith.

It was -decided to call a special meeting of the company to go into the question of rev-sing the articles of association of the company.
