So far as Balclutha is concerned there appears to be complete apathy in regard to the local elections this month, and the Free press lias not heard of any candidates for the mayoralty and council. Simson) will not consent to The dramatio meeting of husband and wife after a separation of 25 years, was described during tho hearing of an application for maintenance in the Christchurci.l Magistrate's Court on a recent afternoon (reports tho Lyttelton Times), Complainant, stated that whilst on a visit to Mina, a man accosted her with the words, “Haven’t I met you before?” “ Oh, yes,” she had replied, “ I’m your wife I”
