TAIERI R.S.A.

The third annual meeting of the Taieri Returned Soldiers’ Association was held in the Clubroom, Mosgiel, on Wednesday evening. The chair was occupied by the president. (Mr T. Millar), and there was a good attendance of members. The annual report, in a comparison made of the membership for 1919-20 and 1920-21, stated that the latter showing a slight decrease, but it was thought that this might be accounted for by the fact, that a number had removed to other districts. The death of a member —Peter Gilligan—-was referred to with regret. The finances of the association were shown to be i.n a sound condition, £3B 13s Id standing to the credit of the club house accounts and £44 Is 3d to that of the R.S.A. The following were elected officers for the ensuing year:—President, Mr A. Hannah; vice-president, Mr J. Neill; treasurer, Mr A. Mitchell (re-elected); secretary, the Rev. C. J. Bush King; Standing Committee —Messrs Haiilin, Scott, Sellars, Watt, and Neill. The matter of Anzac Day was dealt with, and it was decided that the president, vicepresident, and secretary be the committee to arrange with the Ministers’ Association and the council for the due observance of that day. It was hoped to have a similar function to that held last year.
