TURKEY AND GREECE.

FIERCE FIGHTING REPORTED. LONDON, April 3. Constantinople telegrams continue to claim a big victory after a week's fighting at Eskishehr owing to the Turkish counter-offensive on March 31. The Morning Post says that apparently the Greeks have been engaged in a two days’ attack upon the last heights of the Inonou Pass, which will open Eskishehr to them. The Greeks here met with serious resistance. They found the defences of successive dominating heights organised with all modern methods. The Turks also showed great doggedn&ss in a counterattack, and it may be concluded that tha Greeks have received a temporary check. SHIPLOADS OF MUNITIONS. ATHENS, April 4. It is reported that 22 Italian shipa have left Ephesus, south of Smyrna, conveying munitions to the Kemalists. GREEK FRONT FALLING BACK. LONDON, April 6. The Daily Express correspondent at Constantinople reports that the Greeks' left wing was outflanked and forced to retreat. The whole front is now falling back east of Broussa. The retreat causes a grave situation, as it uncovers the Issmid Peninsula, ojiposite Constantinople. GREEK COMMUNIQUE. ATHENS, April 8. A communique states : The north and south sectors are calm. The next encounter will probably be on the south front. The Turkish reports of our losses are absurd. The newspapers report that important changes in the high army command are imminent.
