ANNUAL MEETING. The 20th annual meeting of the Dunedin Young Men’s Christian Association was held in the rooms, Moray place, on Tuesday when there was a very large attendance of members of all branches. Mr 11. K. Wilkinson (president and chairman of the board of directors) occupied the chair, and was well supported by the office-bearers of the association generally. The annual report disclosed a year of usefulness and progress, the principal features of which were the institution of the club system in the boys’ division, the employment of a full-time physical director, the appointment of a special se'ret ary to handle the needs of the younger men, and a decided improvement in the general work. r I he House Department has been crowded to its utmost limit during the year. The gymnasium under Mr J. V. Hanna lias been most popular, members having increased from 259 to 330. while other activities of the Association have not been neglected. This year commenced with an overdraft of £747 12s fad on tho general account, £199 Os 7cS being still owed on the soldiers' hostel fund, making a total deficit cf £9lB 13s 3d. The year concludes with a total overdraft of £551 18s fid, the soldiers hostel fund having been closed early in the year. The fact of tho improvement in the financial condition is due to a special effort made in March and April ■which brought in £Bl2 15s. That the year has not closed entirely free of debt is accounted for by additional expenditures occasioned by the advance in boys’ work, physical work, and the younger men's department. The total expenditure for the year was £7492, 14s, the receipts being £6940 15s 4d. The report was adopted. It was proposed “That the retiring directors be re-elected as follow: —Messrs H. K. Wilkinso, F. Arthur, 11. IVobb, G. Hastie, J. Farquharson, and Captain Sundstrum, and that Messrs C. A. Wilson, 11. C. Campbell. E. A. Rosevear, and R. Gilkison, all of whom had been nominated, be added to the board.’’
