WELSH GOAL FOR HEW ZEALAND.
LONDON, 3larch 2. The Neagle coal contract has been transferred to the High Commissioner, who is arranging on behalf of the Government with leading shipping firms to undertake the transport c.i.f. It is anticipated that a contract for 150,000 tons of best Welsh Admiralty screened coal will be signed tomorrow. Sir James Allen expects to effect a saving of many thousands on the new contract. 3farch 3. Sir James Allen signed a coal contract to-day with Messrs James Burnes and Son, coal exporters, Cardiff, for 150,000 tone to be despatched at the rate of 12,500 tons per month, commencing forthwith, and finishing in February, 1922, by the New Zealand Shipping Co., Shaw. Savill, Commonwealth, Dominion, and British India liners, and glso the Federal if necessary. The c.i.f. price is slightly under 90s per ton, of which 30s represents freight.
