OBITUARY

OAMARU, February 25 Mr James Marion, the prohibition lecturer, when lecturing at Duntroon last night, dropped into his chaix- % saying he was not well Medical aid was promptly given, but Mr Marion became unconscious, and died at 3 this morning. Death was due to an apoplectic stroke. The late Mr Marion was for many yeai's in Melbourne, associated there with Mr F. G. Humming, as a prominent officer of the Salvation Army. He resigned his position to take up duties with the Temperance Alliance in New South Wales, and was secretary of that body for a number of years. 111 its interests he visited America and other parts of the world, and on liis return accepted, a few months ago, the post of organiser in Otago and Southland for the New Zealand Alliance. Deceased was an organiser of great ability and a nun of sterling character. He was a prominent lay reader in the Anglican Church of New South Wales. Mr Marion was about 42 years old. He leaves a widow and thi'ee children.
