REFLECTED CLORY.
A recent transaction by the Defence Department liae placed a substantial item to the credit balance of the Prince’s »isit to Australia. There was recently offered for Bale a high-powered limousine in which the Prince had ridden extensively during his visit, to Melbourne. The commercial value ©f the car, divested of its princely associations and memories, would be in the region of £2OOO, but when it became known that this particular car was for sale a quite remarkable competition to purchase was re-
vealed, reports an Australian paper. The prospect of reclining in a limousine exactly as the Prince had done while travelling along Melbourne’s dusty highways was irresistibly alluring to several opulent patriots. Eventually the car was secured by a, wealthy Victorian squatter for £SOOO, closing a very satisfactory deal for the department.
