ASIATIC EGG TRADE.
CHRISTCHURCH, February 14. A deputation of returned soldier poqjtry farmers waited on the Prime Alinister at Christchurch to-day in connection with the Asiatic egg trade. The deputation said that they were menaced by the trade in Chinese egg pulp, and if they went to the wall tho Government would be left with the biggest farm settlement in New Zealand on its hands. Air Alassey said he had no sympathy with the importation of egg pulp, and would see if it was possible to prohibit pulp without legislation, but he doubted it. lie knew the temper of Parliament on the matter, and as soon as a prohibition could be imposed it would be done.
