BRADFORD MARKET. LONDON, February 14. The Bradford market is quiet, especially in Home trade. BRISBANE WOOL SALES. BRISBANE, February 17. The third of the series of wool sales brought strong demand for super-greasies from Japanese buyers. The prices were on a par with the December rates. A feature of the sale was the unexpected demand for scoured specialties. The well-known Afton clip sold at 48Jd. This is the highest price since the sales reopened last year. CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE. GOOD FINE WOOLS FIRMING. INFERIOR LINES FALLING. CHRSTCHURCH, February 16. The fourth Christchurch wool sale was commenced this morning. There was an

offering of 21,784 bales, compared with 20,602 at (ho last sale held a month ago, but up to the adjournment to-night at 11 o’clock half of the lots offered were passed in. The range of prices, so far as the sale has progressed, is:—Super, merino, 14d to 20d; medium merino, 12d to 14d ; super, halfbred, 14d to 16$d; medium halfbred, 9£d to 13d; inferior halfbred, 8d to 9Jd; suiter, threo-quarterbred 9d to lid.; medium threequarterbred, 7d to Bid; inferior three-quarter-bred, 4d to &Jd ; super, crossbred, 7d to lOd; medium crossbred, 5d to 7d; inferior crossbred, 3d to sd; best halfbred pieces, 9d to 12|d; medium halfbred pieces, od to 8d; crossbred pieces, 3|d to 6d; locks, 2d to 4d. There was a full bench of buyers, and competition was keen for all good lines, merino especially meeting with keen competition from Continental buyers and local mills. Best lialfbreds were keenly sought after, as also were good light crossbreds, but wasty and inferior wools won very little animation. The bidding was most irregular all through the sale, especially for inferior crossbred. Taken all round, the sale indicates a firm market for well-grown merino and halfbreds, with a falling tendency of from Id to 2d on all inferior lines. The sale will be continued to-morrow. February 17. The fourth Christchurch wool sale concluded to-day. Business was confined mostly to the dominion mills and fellmongeriee. Fine wools dropped slightly on the previous day s values, but three-quarterbreds and crossbreds recovered a position more in keeping with the January prices. The range of prices, based on the average for the two days’ sale, is as follows:—Super, merino. 14Jd to 20d; medium merino, 12d to 14d; inferior merino, 9d to lljd; super, halfbred, 12Jd to 15id; medium halfbred, 9Jd to- 12d; inferior halfbred, 7d to 9d; super, tlireequarterbred, 7d to 9fd; medium threequarterbred. 5d to o^-d; inferior threequarterbred. 4d to s^d; super, crossbred, 7sd to lOd; medium crossbred, ojd to 7^d; im ferior crossbred, 3£d to 4£d; best halfbred pieces, 9d to 12Jd; medium halfbred pieces, 6d to 8d; crossbred pieces, 4Jd to s|d; locks, 2d to 2}d.
