The teacher was testing her scholar’s knowledge of the Ten Commandments Coming to the last one, “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house; thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife,” the teacher asked: “Can anyone tell me why Moses wrote down ‘house’ before ‘wife’?” Because a house is harder to get!” replied a smart child.
