The new feature here is the device used to life the nine ploughs in succession. Each plough is raised by steam from the tractor by means of a cylinder and piston,
and since the steam passes from one cylinder to the next, the ploughs are raised one after another.—Avery Co., Peoria, 111. (U.S. Patent, 1,331,044.) ENSILAGE CUTTER. The support here is made of two discs of boiler plate which is stronger than cast iron. The knives are seated in notches in one disc and the fan blades in notches

shorten it by approximately one half the loop.—E. Eh Johnson, Lamberton, Minn. (U.S. Patent, 1,352,812.) STEERING MECHANISM. This mechanism is used on tractors which have a pair of clutch and brake elements between the motor and tractor wheels. A pull on one rope slows the
