Twenty-five delegates, representing centres I from Auckland and Thames to Invercargill, ! attended tho opening session of the fourth annual conference of ihe New Zealand Association of Retail Watchmakers and Jewellers in Dunedin on the 141 h. Mr W. Colt man (Auckland), Ihe retiring president, delivered the opening address, and Mr J. Armstrong (Dunedin), the new president-, then took the chair. Officebearers were elected as follows: President-elect, Mr J. B. Gerrand (Palmerston North); lion, treasurer, Mr M. M. Heincmann (Wellington) ; Executive Council (located in Wellington)—Messrs W. Crawford Young, P. N. Denton, IT. S. Hislop, H W. Lloyd, D. Gillies, and V. White. 'For the most part the agenda paper deals with matters of interest only to tlie trade.
