Spinning Jenny asks: There is a roadline between my property and my neighbour’s property. I have fenced my side of the roadline, hut my neighbour has no fence on his side of the road. What is my position? Answer.—Your neighbour, go long as ho continues to use your fence, is liable to pay to you interest on half the value of the fence at the rate of £lO per cent, per annum, and also to bear half the cost of repairs. Farmer. — The letter will possibly be from a flourmiller, as the books of a fiourmiller are subject to Government inspection. Water. —The company was quite entitled to supply the goods in question. The company was quite justified in construing the wording of the order in the manner indicated by its letter. 51aniototo. — (1) Income from limited companies is not included in the shareholder’s return. (2) This is a special tax, and you have no right to claim a refund. (3) The expenses must be incurred exclusively in carrying on the farm. (4) You cannot claim for any allowances to children except amounts actually paid for services rendered in earning the income. Tenant.— Under the circumstances stated in your letter, the landlord cannot obtain possession of the premises before the year is up. If the tenant wished to vacate the premises before the end of the year, he would require to pay rent up to the end of the year.
