PREVENTED FROM LANDING. WELLINGTON, January 11. So far New Zealand has not been much troubled with Sinn Fein Propaganda, but recently some circulars regarding the cause have been received through the Post Office. One circular urges the owners of the New Zealand dairy factories to contribute to the rebuilding of dairy factories in Ireland destroyed by fire during the rebellion. It is reported that when the R.M.S. Makura arrived in Auckland from Vancouver on Thursday last the police boarded the steamer aiid served a notice under section 5 of “Tho Undesirable Immigrants’ Exclusion Act, 1919,” on a saloon passenger named Osmond liiomu Grattan Esmonde, who was pound for Sydney, prohibiting his landing in New Zealand. Under ordinary circumstances he would have been permitted to land, but inquiries elicited the information that during the voyage of the Makura i'° In Waneouvef he exhibited papers which showed him to be connected with the Irish Diplomatic Mission. Tt is understood that several of the passengers of the steamer complained to the pmlice about the attitude of Esmonde concerning his mission. BANNED IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, January 11. Mr Osmond Thomas Grattan Esmorido arrived by tho Makura claiming to be engaged on a highly important diplomatic mission in connection with tho Home Rule movement in Ireland, but was refused permission to land at any port in Australia.
