REVOLUTIONARY RUSSIA.
AGREEMENT WITH UKRAINIA. HELSINGFORS, January 9. It is reported that Soviet Russia and Ukrainia have entered into a military and economic alliance, including a common commissariat. MOVEMENT ON BLACK SEA COAST. BERLIN. January 9. It is reported from Warsaw that a serious riot occurred in the Russian town of Jansk. Reds who were sent to quell the disturbance joined the rioters. Fresh troops from Moscow subdued the riot, during which there was much bloodshed. Over 300 have since been executed. It is also reported that the population in the neighbourhood of Odessa have risen against the Moscow Government, and that this movement is extending throughout the Black Sea Coast. THE SOVIET AND PERSIA. LONDON, January 11. The Teheran correspondent of The Times states that a majority of the Persian aristocrats, including Ministers and ex-Mmisters, at a meeting favoured the acceptance of the Soviet terms for a treaty, excepting the clauses relating to Socialism in Persia and unlimited consular representation. They expressed the view that no pourparlers should be held until the Soviet troops retire from the front in North Persia. M. LENIN BREAKS DOWN. LONDON, January 16. It is reported that M. Lenin has suffered a complete nervous breakdown as the result of the recent attempt on his life.
A MUTINOUS ARMY. HELSINGFORS, January 16. The Soviet Army on the Esthonian fron tier has been withdrawn to the interior of Russia owing to its mutinous spirit. ULTIMATUM TO QUIT. COPENHAGEN, January 16. It is reported from Warsaw that the League of Nations’ Commission has sent an ultimatum to General Zeligowski to evacuate Vilna.
