OTAGO REPATRIATION BOARD.

At last week’s meeting of the Otago District Repatriation Board the following applications for assistance were dealt with: Business Loans. —Nine applications were received, of which six were approved, two were hold over, and one was withdrawn at the applicant’s own request. Furniture Loans. —Twenty-six applications were received, of which 20 were approved, two were held over, and four were declined. Four applications were received for assistance whilst receiving technical and university training. Two were approved, one was withdrawn, and one was declined. In connection with soldiers who are unable to follow their pre-war occupation, four applicants were granted the subsidy (previously withheld), after _ having satisfactorily completed their training in new trades. Nine cases were approved for a further period of training, and one case was struck off on account of unsatisfactory conduct.
